Overview

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer - Food/ FMCG

Location: Aberystwyth

Salary: Discussed On Initial Call (Competitive)

Industry: Food/ FMCG Manufacturing

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 14:30 (40 hours)

Responsibilities
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and driving continuous improvement.
  • Responding to and resolving breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Monitoring equipment to ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and quality standards.
  • Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across a range of production lines, packaging machinery, and services equipment (including boilers, pasteurisers and processors).
  • Performing machine modifications and plant improvements.
  • Basic plumbing, fabrication, and general engineering repairs.
  • Recording all activities accurately on CMMS systems.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision, while also supporting the wider engineering team.
Qualifications
  • 18th Edition Electrical (City & Guilds) qualification OR Qualified by experience.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge within an FMCG / manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in machine maintenance, fabrication, and fault finding.
  • Ability to read schematics and diagnose electrical / mechanical faults.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
