A leading FMCG manufacturer in North Manchester is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Elec Bias). This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment with ample overtime and development for CI and Engineering courses. Candidates should have experience in fast-paced FMCG manufacturing and relevant engineering qualifications. Shift pattern is 4 on, 4 off, ensuring a balanced work schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with engineering qualifications required.
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing environment essential.
  • 17th/18th edition is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of engineering requirements and processes.
  • Participate in a cross-functional planned maintenance team.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards.
  • Respond effectively under breakdown conditions.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Train fellow maintenance engineers and operator-technicians.
  • Complete planned maintenance to strict schedules.
  • Work on various installation and modification projects.

Multi Skilled Engineer (Elec Bias)

Scantec are working in partnership with a fantastic FMCG Food Manufacturer in North Manchester. We're seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Elec Bias).

The company has never been busier and has undergone huge investment of late and more planned in 2025. They have a fantastic culture with a friendly, supportive and development-focused environment.

Lots of overtime is currently available on your scheduled 4 off and development for CI and Engineering courses readily available so it's a great time to join!

Shifts

4 on, 4 off pattern. 7-7, 2x days, 2x nights.

Responsibilities
  • Continuous development of knowledge and familiarity with the engineering requirements of the site process systems and machinery
  • Work as an active part of a skilled cross functional planned maintenance team
  • Ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure a fast and effective response especially under breakdown conditions
  • Quickly diagnose faults and take corrective action
  • Assist and support mechanical engineers with their duties
  • Actively participate in a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the site, constantly identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Assist in the training of fellow maintenance engineers, operator-technicians and others where necessary
  • Ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules, and constantly look for improvements that will ensure reliability of equipment is improved
  • Ensure good working practices are adhered to throughout
  • Work on various projects including installation and modifications to plant and equipment
Required Skills and Experience
  • Ideally you'll be an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer with the appropriate engineering qualifications
  • Experience within a fast paced FMCG Manufacturing environment is essential
  • 17th/18th edition is an advantage as full development and training can be provided
