Location: Multiple sites around Hull

Salary: £40,000 per annum + fully expensed company vehicle

Job type: Permanent, Full time - 40 hours per week plus occasional weekends

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our engineering team across all our sites - commercial and manufacturing in Hull. This is a crucial role in ensuring our production equipment, facilities, and commercial buildings operate efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The role requires a mix of 50% electrical, 50% mechanical engineering, alongside building and site maintenance responsibilities across our manufacturing and commercial facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) on food production and packaging machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across machinery, conveyors, motors, drives, and control systems.
  • Conduct general building maintenance, including plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, roofing, doors, windows, and structural inspections across commercial and manufacturing equipment.
  • Respond to emergency building repairs to ensure operational continuity and safety.
  • Maintain site utilities and services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and compressed air systems.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new plant, machinery, and building modifications.
  • Work with the production and facilities teams to improve overall site performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety (HACCP/BRCGS), and site regulations.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and site standards.
About You
  • Ideally HNC, HND or degree qualified or apprentice with time served experience and excellent practical knowledge gained in a similar food manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum 3 years' hands on post qualification experience.
  • A methodical approach to fault finding.
  • Conversant with UK Health & Safety rules, regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to priorities workload and concisely record information.
  • Knowledge of PLC's, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge and experience of BRCGS for Engineering and Food Manufacturing.
