Protea Recruitment Ltd is partnering with an established food manufacturing business in County Down to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will join a fast-paced environment, supporting reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of production equipment.

You will handle reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and working with production teams to minimise downtime while maintaining safety standards.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years' maintenance engineering experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or similar fast-paced production environment.
• Completed engineering apprenticeship and relevant engineering qualification, ideally HNC level or above.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
• Experience maintaining automated production and packaging machinery.
• Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding across production and packaging equipment.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to improve equipment reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults, minimising production disruption.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and update maintenance management systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve machinery performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement, automation and engineering improvement projects.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with Health & Safety and food safety standards.
• Liaise with external contractors and equipment suppliers when required.
• Monitor engineering spares and ensure critical components are available.
• Work closely with production teams to support operational targets and minimise downtime.

Protea Recruitment is working with an established food manufacturing business in County Down to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement of production equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support, working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
