This role suits someone with a solid core trade (electrical or mechanical) but who’s equally comfortable turning their hand to general building maintenance and essential fabric tasks. You’ll be working in a live airport environment, so a proactive, problem‑solving mindset is key.

What you’ll be doing
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Attending breakdowns and resolving issues quickly to maintain operational continuity
  • General building maintenance tasks such as unblocking toilets and getting faulty WC systems working again
  • Supporting small repairs, basic plumbing, and fabric tasks as required
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with site compliance
  • Working as part of the onsite engineering team on a 4 on, 4 off shift rotation
What we’re looking for
  • Qualified engineer with either electrical or mechanical bias
  • Experience within facilities engineering or building maintenance
  • Comfortable with hands‑on, practical maintenance (including basic plumbing/fabric tasks)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on shift
  • Airport or critical environment experience is beneficial but not essential
What’s on offer
  • £38,000 salary (reflective of skillset and duties)
  • 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern with 2 days and 2 nights
  • Stable, long‑term role within a major aviation contract
  • Training, development, and a supportive team environment
