Multiskilled Engineer

With a commanding position in the UK FMCG and Food market sector, this highly respected brand has witnessed massive investment and expansion in its West Yorkshire Facility. With its high-end products, their focus on production and continuous improvement is at the forefront of their engineering teams. To continue their expansion model there is a need to increase the already successful engineering team.

Position: Multiskilled Engineer

Location: Leeds

Package: Negotiable

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across production equipment.
  • Fault-find and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, implementing permanent solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing across the team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety, quality, and environmental
  • Building control panels
  • Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to reduce downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities using a CMMS (tablet-based, training provided).
  • Manage critical spare parts and ensure effective inventory control.
  • Issue and manage Permits to Work for contractors, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Support black building testing and respond to alarms via the Trend BMS.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and performance initiatives.
  • Deliver weekly reports in line with contractual KPIs.
Requirements
  • Qualifications preferred should be an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering with experience in a similar role.
  • Must have strong electrical fault-finding experience, WITH 18TH Edition qualifications Familiarity with technical manuals, schematics and drawings.
