Responsibilities
- Suitably experienced in the delivery of all aspects of electrical installation works from light commercial installations to large industrial installations.
- Plan, perform and complete reactive repairs, fault‑finding on mechanical plant and minor installation works.
- Work either as part of a maintenance team under a local site supervisor or independently on minor works projects without local supervision.
- Meet with a variety of clients to represent the company and remain courteous and professional at all times.
- Apply the current IET wiring regulations to ensure all work complies with BS7671 requirements.
- Execute installation and completion tasks including single and three‑phase low‑voltage distribution cablings, steel & PVC trunking, tray/conduit containment, final circuit cabling, second‑fix termination of wiring accessories, data networking, HVCA controls, fault finding, inspection & testing.
- Prepare accurate documentation and submit company paperwork (hard copy or electronic) as required per contract.
- Liaise closely with electrical engineers to develop engineering solutions that meet client requirements and budgets.
- Use initiative to solve complex technical problems related to minor works activities, including sourcing parts, materials and manufacturer technical support.
- Adhere to the highest levels of health and safety, conducting point‑of‑work risk assessments for every task.
- Maintain a sound understanding of BS7671 and associated IET guidance documents and best practice principles.
- Provide detailed write‑ups of works carried out so that clients are kept fully informed.
- Deliver all work within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, complying with current regulations and contract specifications.
- Maintain reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
- Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works where required.
- Liaise closely with the company’s control hub to ensure efficient response to all works, whether working alone or as part of a team.
- Deal with a variety of clients daily, representing the company with courtesy and professionalism.
- Provide regular out‑of‑hours cover on a rota system.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the electrician will undertake various electrical tasks including inspection & testing, condition reporting for new installation work, minor works projects, refurbishment works, reactive and planned maintenance tasks in order to deliver a high level of service.
Qualifications
- C&G Level 3 2357 or equivalent, having completed a relevant apprenticeship within your trade.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly related to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance.
- AM2 certification.
- Knowledge of the 18th Edition of BS7671.
- Current full UK driver’s licence.
- Registered CSCS/CSR card or equivalent skill card.
- Normal colour vision.
- Able to undergo non‑police personnel vetting.
- Desirable: Experience in planned & reactive maintenance, CSR site supervisor, Gold Card.
