Job summary

The Wave is seeking a skilled Multi-Site Maintenance Staff/Caretaker to join our Estates Team in Redruth. This part-time role (20 hours per week, Mon-Fri) involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to our academies, keeping buildings safe, compliant, and in good working condition.

You will use practical skills across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drainage and decorating, supervise contractors, maintain grounds, and ensure health and safety and COSHH compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance across trades.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and decorating.
• Understanding of safety standards in educational settings.

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Multi-Site Maintenance Staff/Caretakers to help maintain our academies to an exceptional standard. In this hands‑on role, they will organise and carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring our buildings remain safe, compliant, and in optimum working condition. From routine checks to essential repairs, their work will directly support the smooth running of our educational environments.

Candidates will bring strong practical skills and experience across a range of building maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, drainage, lock fixing, and painting and decorating. A good understanding of the challenges involved in maintaining an educational setting would be beneficial.

Alongside technical ability, you will demonstrate strong awareness of Health & Safety, COSHH regulations, risk management, record‑keeping, contractor supervision, site security, and the ongoing upkeep of grounds and external areas. You will communicate effectively, interact professionally with staff and visitors, and play an essential role within our wider Estates Team.
