Job summary

A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across its UK sites. The role requires strong leadership and excellent communication skills, fostering a positive safety culture. Responsibilities include maintaining H&S management systems to ISO standards, developing policies, and ensuring legal compliance. Candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience in manufacturing or a similar field, with a willingness to travel regularly.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred; NEBOSH General Certificate required.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proven track record with H&S systems to ISO 45001 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve H&S management systems in line with ISO standards.
  • Develop and implement H&S policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Ensure legal compliance with UK H&S and environmental legislation.
  • Deliver H&S training and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Prepare monthly H&S performance reports and KPI analyses.

Skills

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Managing H&S systems to ISO 45001 standards
Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Problem-solving capabilities
Willingness to travel
