Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a Gardener to join our gardening team across Sunderland area care homes, maintaining and presenting gardens to a high standard to support HC-One's aim to be the First Choice Care Home in the community.

You will undertake planting, mowing, pruning, weed control, and maintenance of garden assets, with a company vehicle provided to work across multiple sites. Full training and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

Must understand and implement the Care Home Health and Safety policy and emergency procedures.
Will complete mandatory and specialist training related to the role.
Must be able to engage effectively with Residents, the Home Manager and colleagues.
Must be able to drive; a company vehicle is provided for work across multiple sites.
Safeguarding training is required and ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Undertake gardening duties across care home grounds, including planting seasonal foliage, mowing, pruning, and weed control.
Maintain and present gardens and pathways to a high standard.
Carry out maintenance of gardening machinery and tools.
Assist with painting external fencing and garden furniture as needed.
Provide salt gritting and snow clearance as required.
