Job summary

A local healthcare services provider in Barnsley is seeking an Estates and Facilities Maintenance Operative to ensure the smooth operation of new health facilities. The role involves conducting daily inspections, overseeing maintenance tasks, and supporting multiple sites within the Barnsley Health Community. Ideal candidates will possess NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in building trade, prior maintenance experience, and the ability to work autonomously. Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in engineering/building/joinery maintenance.
• Experience working at heights and in confined spaces is necessary.
• Previous work in hospital environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily building inspections and routine statutory maintenance.
• Manage deliveries, stock rotation, and storage.
• Oversee waste management and segregation.

Skills

Ability to work unsupervised

Communication with staff and contractors

Ability to travel effectively between sites

Willingness to work at all hospital sites

Education

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in building/facilities trade

Tools

Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, building and joinery services
