A countywide support service is seeking a Multi Sensory Worker to provide tailored support for deafblind children. Responsibilities include assistance in daily activities and personal care. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children and relevant qualifications such as British Sign Language. This role offers comprehensive training and a supportive work environment, emphasizing a commitment to improving the lives of young people in Devon.
This is a countywide service, and will involve travel.
The Multi-Sensory Impairment Service are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children.
We work directly with children and young people who are registered Deafblind and assessed as requiring specialist one to one support.

We are looking to recruit to our team to provide support for deafblind children and young people both in their education setting and in a social capacity, supporting them to access to a wide range of activities. As a service we aim to provide consistency for the young people we support and work closely with other professionals to provide this. We cover a variety of sessions including; school day, evenings, weekends and school holidays.
The role of an Multi Sensory Worker will include supporting our children and young people in all aspects of daily living. Many of our Children and young people have additional needs beyond their deafblind status and a caring nature, respecting their privacy and dignity while delivering personal care and supporting with medication is essential.
About you
We are always interested in people who have current relevant qualifications such as British Sign Language or experience with communication techniques.
We will support you in your on-going development within the role, providing comprehensive training with a child centred approach. You will support children to reach agreed personal goals and outcomes through engaging them to make choices and decisions.
Additional information
The salary range for this role is £26,824 to £28,598 per annum
Attracting enhanced rates of pay for weekend working, hourly rate £20.85 rising to £22.23 for Saturdays and £27.80 rising to £29.64 for Sundays and bank holidays.
