Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and practical individual to join our team at Space, a multi sensory centre, working to enable carers to use the sensory facilities to gain the maximum benefit for children and adults with additional needs. This role is for maternity cover and would be for a minimum of 9 months (with a possible extension to 12 months), with potential permanent role opportunities after this point. The nationally recognised Space Centre is proud to offer services 7 days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Guide and nurture groups in a person‑centred way.
  • Train colleagues and offer supervision, requiring strong communication skills.
  • Administer and troubleshoot IT and other technology to support the sensory environment.
  • Adapt to a varied daily schedule, multitasking across days, evenings and weekends on a rota between 9 am – 8 pm.
  • Maintain administrative tasks and support service operations.
Working Hours

Full time and part time hours will be considered, with part time being no less than 22.5 hours a week. Shifts are based on a rota system, covering days, evenings and weekends flexibly according to the needs of the service.

Qualifications
  • Some life or work experience working with people with physical and/or learning disabilities, including working with those with Autism.
  • Positive, committed, and adaptable approach to a challenging environment.
  • Effective communication and administrative/IT skills.
