Job summary

Legal & General (L&G) is seeking a Research Analyst to join our Asset Allocation team in the UK. You will support strategy and research across multi-asset portfolios, work with economists and portfolio managers, and help develop analytical tools and datasets.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Economics or Finance, 1–3 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with Python or SQL. Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics, Finance or a closely related subject (required).
• 1–3 years' relevant experience within investments, financial markets or economics.
• Strong understanding of investment fundamentals and analytical techniques.
• Genuine passion for financial markets and macroeconomics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively while contributing independent thinking.
• Exposure to Python, SQL or other analytical tools would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supporting strategy and research activity across the Multi Asset team.
• Assisting economists and strategists with macroeconomic and market research projects.
• Building and maintaining analytical tools, scorecards and market indicators.
• Updating existing research frameworks and datasets.
• Supporting the generation of investment ideas across multiple asset classes.
• Analysing economic, market and investment data.
• Maintaining and improving team research infrastructure.
• Collaborating with portfolio managers and other investment professionals.
