Job summary

Direct Line Group is seeking a MuleSoft Engineer for a hybrid role based in London to design, develop and maintain MuleSoft APIs. The role focuses on REST and SOAP APIs, RAML contracts, and DataWeave transformations, with production support and API improvements.

You will work in an engineering team, contribute to API patterns, and participate in reviews while enjoying a benefits package and on-site London office days as part of a flexible, hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Design and refactor complex APIs to integrate with internal and external systems.
• Production maintenance support to monitor and troubleshoot production issues.
• Enhancements to existing APIs.
• Implement new REST or SOAP APIs.
• Understand the solution and contribute to optimisations.
• Contribute to API development methods, tools and techniques.
• Apply standards and tools for well-engineered outcomes.
• Participate in code reviews and lead peers' reviews.

Responsibilities

• Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors complex APIs to integrate with Internal and External systems.
• Production maintenance support to monitor and troubleshoot production issues.
• Enhancements to existing APIs.
• Implement new REST or SOAP APIs.
• Understand the solution and contribute for the optimisations.
• Participate & Contributes to the software engineering community in the selection API development methods, tools and techniques.
• Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve well‑engineered outcomes.
• Participates in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work.
