A leading healthcare provider in Liverpool is offering a one-year Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship. The program includes clinical experience in MSK imaging, research opportunities, and participation in conferences. Ideal candidates should have completed radiology training and be committed to peer-reviewed research. This position includes dedicated research time and opportunities for specialized MSK radiology exposure.
The Musculoskeletal Imaging fellowship is a one-year post-radiology CCT training program. The fellowship provides clinical experience across the full range of disorders affecting the adult musculoskeletal system. The program incorporates the application and interpretation of the full range of MSK imaging examinations and procedures including radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, computed tomography, MRI, MR arthrography and image‑guided percutaneous biopsy.
Participants will gain experience in CT intervention including image‑guided spinal intervention for pain management and MSK cryoablation cases. Fellows will also have opportunities to attend orthopaedic and rheumatologic meetings, including soft tissue sarcoma conferences.
There are 2 fellowship positions, with start dates in August 2026.
The post includes one session a week of dedicated research time and fellows are expected to produce at least one peer‑reviewed research project over the course of the year. Optional one‑session pediatric MSK radiology exposure is available.
The department has two 1.5T MRI scanners, a 3T MRI and four CT scanners ranging from 128 multi‑slice systems and a dual‑source CT. Orthopaedic out‑patients and elective surgery are based at the BGH, which has a third 1.5T MRI scanner.
MSK ultrasound lists run at both sites, offering diagnostic and therapeutic image‑guided biopsy and injection services.
