Job summary

North Yorkshire Council seeks an MSK Specialist Instructor to support the health and wellbeing of working-age adults across North Yorkshire. You will lead MSK assessments, tailor rehabilitation plans and group sessions, and collaborate with healthcare providers, employers and community organisations to pathway participants back into work.

Qualifications

• Experience in MSK rehabilitation or health promotion.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to improving health outcomes and helping individuals return to work.

Responsibilities

• Support the Health and Wellbeing Manager in delivering MSK Trailblazer priorities across the Active North Yorkshire service.
• Design, coordinate and deliver MSK health assessments and rehabilitation plans.
• Deliver condition-specific programmes including nutrition, lifestyle, behaviour change, pain management and activity; facilitate employment pathways.
• Use positive psychology, behaviour change techniques and motivational interviewing for person-centred services.
• Engage with clients to ensure responsive services and high customer care.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications, web content and social media; liaise with healthcare providers and employers regarding MSK referrals.
• Develop and disseminate MSK-targeted programmes to reduce absenteeism.
• Gather client feedback to inform service improvement and ensure closed-loop referrals.
