MS SQL Server DBA Database Administrator – Investment Bank – Canary Wharf, London

Our Client is an International Bank with offices in Canary Wharf, London.

They are now looking to recruit a Senior MS SQL Server DBA with at least 5–7 years of expertise.

Although the role is for a Senior MS SQL Server DBA, the Client would like you to have a background in Data Warehousing.

As an MS SQL Server DBA with Application Support you will be involved with developing and implementing solutions for the bank’s financial systems.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the integrity, security and accuracy of the production database environment, ensuring good performance of the dependent applications.
  • Plan and implement operating procedures for backup of database and recovery of database information.
  • Develop database-related application development standards covering database creation, software placement, storage and auditing.
  • Ensure the integrity of the recovery system at all times. Initiate formal testing of the recovery system.
  • Develop database procedures as necessary to enhance the application suite as required.
  • Respond to, resolve and document support calls for the production and test applications.
  • Maintain to a high standard documentation supporting the build, maintenance and operational procedures of the database environment.
  • Act as the technical liaison between database operations and vendor support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Configuration and operation of clustered database servers using external storage.
  • Scripting stored procedures.
  • Security concepts of database management.
  • Change management concepts and application.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 to 7 years of solid expertise as a MS SQL Server DBA – Database Administrator.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Administration (Enterprise Edition).
  • High level T‑SQL programming (SPs, Functions, Triggers).
  • Operation, design and implementation experience of Mirroring, Log Shipping and SQL Server Replication.
  • SQL Reporting Services and Analysis Services maintenance and tuning.
Salary and Benefits

Salary for this role is negotiable and is expected to be in the range £55K – £70K + benefits.
