Job description
Responsibilities
  • Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you
  • Follow the department’s working procedures and practices
  • Repair damaged and worn mould equipment to a high standard using various engineering techniques such as spray welding, polishing, grinding, filing and machining
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure the repaired equipment meet the required specification
  • Modify mould equipment to maintain quality standards
  • Carry out checks on mould equipment using visual and precision measuring techniques to ensure that specifications are complied with
  • Record daily work carried out on job sheets to provide an accurate reference point
  • Monitor housekeeping in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules
Qualifications
  • Time served apprenticeship with a formal engineering qualification (Mechanical/manufacturing engineering)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in operating CNC and manual lathes
  • Good understanding of bench fitting techniques and the use of hand tools (air tools, files, grinders etc)
  • Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings
  • Competent in the use and reading of precision measuring equipment such as micrometres
  • Keen eye for detail and experience working to tight tolerances (+/-0.03mm)
  • Experience working with metals such as Cast Iron, Bronze and Nickel
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Positive attitude and flexible approach towards teamwork and learning new roles

Salary & Benefits
  • Salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary min £34,689 – £37,253 max.

Days/Afters shift Monday-Friday 7.00am – 2.30pm / 2.30pm – 10.00pm
