Motorsport Number 1 Mechanic – Full-Time

Location: Farnham

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and organised Number 1 Mechanic to take the lead on preparing and running our race car. You will oversee car build, manage junior mechanics, and work closely with the Chief Mechanic to ensure the car is ready to perform at every event. This role requires strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work under pressure during race weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all mechanical work on the race car in the workshop and at events
  • Guide and support Number 2 mechanics and junior team members
  • Carry out setup changes, repairs, system checks, and pre-event preparation
  • Work with the Chief Mechanic to follow setup sheets and run plans
  • Keep parts, tools, and work areas organised and well-presented
  • Support pitstops and race operations
  • Assist with garage setup and pack-down
Requirements
  • Previous experience asa Number 1 Mechanic in professional motorsport
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills
  • Confident leading small teams and working independently
  • Able to travel, work weekends, and handle long hours
  • High attention to detail with a professional attitude
  • Full driving licence
Desirable
  • Experience in GT, touring cars, single-seaters, prototypes, or similar
  • Fabrication or composite repair skills
  • Forklift certification
  • Knowledge of data systems or sub-assembly work
