Job summary

A leading airport in the UK is seeking a Motor Transport Engineer to perform maintenance on their vehicle fleet. The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, but must be flexible to assist in a 24/7 on-call system. The ideal candidate will hold a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Motor Transport Engineering and possess strong team working and computer skills.

Job description

Reporting to the Motor Transport Team Leader you will be required to perform and deliver planned preventative maintenance on the airport vehicle fleet, provide quick and efficient response within specified target times in the event of vehicle failure and liaise with external contractors ensuring a high quality of work standards are maintained and liaise with and assist the Engineering Team Leader, Technical Support Engineer and Head of Airside Operations with the ordering of spares.

You must also be able to communicate effectively as and when required with other departments and comply and co-operate with the company's Safety Management System.

The core hours of work for this role are 37.5 per week Monday to Friday, however the successful candidate will assist in the operation of a 24/7 on call system to ensure asset and equipment service level agreements and key performance indicators are met, be flexible in their approach and be willing to work on repairs to other equipment within their skillset.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and experience (City & Guilds Level 2) in Motor Transport Engineering. We are also looking for a candidate who has a good level of computer literacy, excellent team working skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
