Salary Range: £31,200.00 - £46,800.00

What the Role Typically Involves

• Conducting vehicle inspections both in the field and remotely to assess repair viability, cost control, and safety compliance.
• Supporting claims teams with fast, accurate technical advice.
• Auditing repair networks and suppliers to ensure quality and service standards.
• Investigating potential fraud and supporting liability decisions.
• Handling technical complaints and ensuring compliance with FCA and regulatory standards.
• Providing expert reports and, where necessary, attending court as a technical witness.

What We Look For

• At least 3 years’ experience in motor vehicle estimating or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods, and estimating tools.
• Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Analytical, numerate, and confident in decision‑making.
• Comfortable working independently in a field‑based role.
• Basic understanding of insurance principles and cover types.
• PC literate and ideally a member (or working towards membership) of the IAEA.
• Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight.
