Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting an experienced MOT Tester for a busy Guildford workshop. This full‑time role offers a 40‑hour week (Mon‑Fri 8:00–17:30 with Saturdays on a rota) and a starting package of £34,000 basic plus bonuses, with on‑target earnings around £40,000.

The position includes extensive training and accreditation opportunities. You will conduct MOT tests, vehicle health checks, pre‑delivery inspections, minor repairs, and thorough documentation, while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification.
• Valid MOT Licence.
• Full UK driving licence with a clean record.
• Proven experience as MOT Tester or automotive technician in a dealership or reputable garage.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards in vehicle workmanship.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct MOT tests in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and legal requirements.
• Perform vehicle health checks including tyres, lighting, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Carry out routine inspections and pre-delivery checks for new and used cars.
• Carry out minor repairs and servicing duties as required.
• Complete all relevant documentation accurately and promptly.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining work and advising on repairs.
• Assist workshop team with additional maintenance tasks as needed.
