Job summary

A leading automotive contractor in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician. This role involves conducting MOT tests, diagnosing mechanical faults, and maintaining vehicles to DVSA standards. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with Class 4 & 7 MOT testing and will be supported with training and personalized consultant assistance. Qualifications

• Experience as an MOT Tester Class 4 & 7 is required.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to diagnose faults.
• High standard of workmanship and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT Tests and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical faults.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately.
• Stripping down and rebuilding vehicle components.
• Replace engines and transmissions as necessary.
• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with general workshop duties when needed.

What You’ll Be Doing as a MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician:

• Carrying out MOT Tests
• Identifying and diagnosing mechanical and system faults.
• Inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and reliability to DVSA standards.
• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard.
• Stripping down and rebuilding vehicle components using technical guides.
• Replacing engines, transmissions, and other key systems.
• Conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance is key within the Vehicle Technician role.
• Assisting in general workshop duties when needed.
