Salary: Up to £38,000

Hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:30am‑5:30pm

Holidays: 20 days + Bank Holidays

Our client is a friendly, family‑run garage that keeps things running smoother than a freshly‑passed hatchback. A valued team member has moved on, so they’re now looking for an experienced MOT Tester to join the crew – and the vacancy is signed off and road‑ready.

No trial shifts. No long‑winded diagnostic interviews.
Just one straightforward chat with the owners… and if you pass with no major defects, it’s straight to an offer.

Your Day‑to‑Day (No Emissions Test Required)

You’ll be carrying out around 10 MOTs a day on mostly newer vehicles, using a proper MOT ramp (none of those questionable pits).
Average test time? 30‑40 minutes – just enough to keep the day moving without needing a pit stop every five minutes.

Your Pass Criteria

• ✔ Valid MOT Testing Licence
• ✔ Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points – nobody wants a tester who keeps failing their own retest)
• ✔ 2‑3 years MOT testing experience
• ✔ Ideally 5 years+ in the trade

Nice to have

• ➤ A bit of mechanical know‑how for minor tweaks and general workshop support.
