Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester – Independent Garage

Location: Hillingdon
Job Type: Full-time (part-time considered)

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join a busy and successful independent garage in the Hillingdon area. Due to increased demand for MOTs, servicing, and repairs, we have opportunities for both dedicated technicians and dual-qualified tech/testers. If you're passionate about high-quality workmanship and want to work with a supportive, family-run business that values skill and integrity, this is the role for you. A £3,000 welcome bonus is available for successful candidates, paid in instalments over your first three months.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MOT testing (Class 4) to DVSA standards
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and servicing on a variety of vehicles
• Maintain high-quality standards and attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow
• Deliver outstanding customer service and uphold company values

Salary & Bonus

Base Salary: £37,000 – £41,000 per year
Bonus Scheme: £6,000 – £12,000 per year
On Target Earnings: £47,000 – £57,000 per year
Includes 26 Saturdays per year
Part-time applicants welcome (salary and bonus pro‑ra)

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a vehicle workshop environment
• Qualified to Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Ideally also an MOT Tester with a clean DVSA record
• Skilled across diagnostics, servicing, and complex repairs
• Reliable, organised, and able to work to high technical standards
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
