Job summary

Pareto FM is seeking a reliable Cleaning Operative to join our team on-site at our client site in Greater London. You will perform a range of cleaning duties, including window cleaning, to a consistently high standard and in line with schedules and site specifications.

You will work hands-on, report to your Supervisor, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone using the building.

Qualifications

• Previous professional cleaning experience would be beneficial.
• Understanding of standards in client environments.
• Shows pride in work and reliability to deliver high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and site specifications
• Carrying out window cleaning where required, following procedures and Health & Safety requirements
• Ensuring cleaning is completed to a consistently high standard
• Checking your own work and addressing areas needing attention
• Using cleaning products, equipment and materials safely and correctly
• Maintaining and storing equipment and materials after use
• Following Health & Safety, COSHH and site procedures
• Wearing correct uniform and PPE for the task
• Updating Supervisor on changes or issues identified on site
• Reviewing allocated work using the Jobber system
• Reporting any outstanding cleaning issues
• Working closely with colleagues to complete all areas
• Responding professionally to client or management requests
• Using initiative to resolve straightforward issues
• Supporting and guiding less experienced team members
• Helping to continuously improve cleaning standards across the site

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team and help us maintain excellent standards across our client site.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and specifications, helping to create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone using the building.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be trusted to manage your day‑to‑day responsibilities, identify any issues and work closely with your Supervisor and the wider team to ensure consistently high standards.

What you’ll be doing

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out cleaning duties in line with agreed schedules and site specifications
• Carrying out window cleaning where required, following the correct procedures and Health & Safety requirements
• Ensuring cleaning is completed to a consistently high standard
• Checking your own work and addressing any areas requiring further attention
• Using cleaning products, equipment and materials safely and correctly
• Ensuring equipment and materials are properly maintained and stored after use
• Following all relevant Health & Safety, COSHH and site procedures
• Wearing the correct uniform and PPE for the task being completed

What we’re looking for

Previous professional cleaning experience would be beneficial, along with an understanding of the standards expected when working within a client environment.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can be relied upon to deliver a consistently high standard.

• Good knowledge of safe cleaning practices
• An understanding of Health & Safety within the workplace

Experience using cleaning machinery or carrying out window cleaning would also be beneficial where relevant to the site.

Health & Safety

Safety is an important part of the role.

You’ll be expected to take responsibility for your own Health & Safety and consider the safety of colleagues, clients and visitors who may be affected by your work.

You’ll follow the correct procedures when using cleaning chemicals, machinery and equipment and ensure the appropriate PPE is worn when required.

If you identify a potential hazard or an issue you cannot resolve safely, you’ll report it promptly to your Supervisor.
