Job description

The London Policing Board is helping drive the necessary reforms of the Metropolitan Police Service to ensure that all Londoners have the representative, fair and effective police service they deserve.

MOPAC convenes a number of other Board meetings covering a variety of topics relating to policing, crime, justice and safety.

Our boards include:

  • The London Criminal Justice Board, which provides direction to the operational delivery of London’s Criminal Justice Service.
  • A body that drives forward the Mayor's commitments to improve services for victims of crime.
  • An independent, non-statutory body that advises MOPAC to help guide our work on ending violence against women and girls.
  • A monthly meeting with partners to discuss reducing reoffending in London.
  • The Criminal Justice Effectiveness Board, which brings together justice agencies to discuss operational issues and work on improvements to the justice system on behalf of Londoners.
  • A regular meeting to review key work relating to disproportionality across a wide-range of policing issues.
  • The board that oversees the implementation of the CONTEST strategy in the capital.
  • The London Drugs Forum, which brings together criminal justice and health agencies to develop an effective response to drug-related harms and crimes across the city.
  • Regular meetings between the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime and London Council Leaders to discuss crime, policing and community safety across the city.
Our Governance meetings

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime hold the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service to account for the delivery of an effective and efficient police service for Londoners.

This includes regular meetings with the Commissioner and also with other senior police leaders.
