A leading environmental and engineering consultancy is looking for a Monitoring Systems Technician to join its growing London team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and motivated individual to work on high-profile monitoring projects across the UK - combining hands‑on fieldwork with technical data analysis in a dynamic, forward‑thinking environment.

As a Monitoring Systems Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating noise, vibration, and air quality monitoring systems. The role offers a balanced mix of site‑based and office‑based work, ideal for someone with a passion for technology, environmental measurement, and problem‑solving.

Duties
  • Preparing, testing, and installing environmental monitoring systems
  • Conducting site investigations and diagnosing equipment faults
  • Performing remote health checks and data downloads via web platforms
  • Processing and assessing environmental monitoring data
  • Preparing regular environmental reports for clients and consultants
  • Maintaining accurate site records and liaising with equipment suppliers
Skills and experience required
  • GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science (Grade 6 or above)
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong IT and numeracy skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability and practical mindset
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to work outdoors year‑round
  • Organised, reliable, and eager to learn new technical skills
