If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference with great job satisfaction in a fast, dynamic, and thriving team, then join our Integration Platform team at Nationwide. We are central to the society’s tech strategy and the focal point for our current and future Kubernetes platform.

As a MongoDB Database Administrator, you will work in project teams designing, building, and maintaining MongoDB databases and infrastructure to deliver strong business solutions. You will be involved from design and build to supporting both non-production and production environments. We foster a learning culture at NBS, encouraging ongoing development and skill enhancement in relevant technologies. You will have opportunities to join communities to share ideas and collaborate with other engineers.

We are open to flexible working arrangements to support your performance and well-being.

At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working where possible. Our approach allows colleagues to collaborate in the office for problem-solving, learning, and connection, while also providing generous home working options. You will spend at least two days per week, or 40% of your time if part-time, based at our London, Swindon, Northampton, or Bournemouth offices. Further details will be provided if your application is successful, and more about our hybrid approach can be found online.

If you are outside of our Swindon and London offices, you will need to attend these locations once a month for workshops, collaboration, and meetings.

We encourage early applications as high interest may lead to early closure of the advert.

What you’ll be doing

You will collaborate within delivery teams to develop optimal solutions using your technical leadership and SME expertise. Your responsibilities include advising, system building, troubleshooting, and providing guidance to less experienced engineers to ensure fit-for-purpose designs and solutions.
