A leading dermatology clinic in Cheadle is seeking a Mohs Surgery Laboratory Technician to support the dermatology team. Responsibilities include preparing tissue specimens, maintaining documentation, operating laboratory equipment, and ensuring high standards of infection control. Ideal candidates will have laboratory experience, particularly in Mohs surgery or histology. This position offers a flexible contract with competitive daily rates.

Contract Type: Bank
Hours: Friday and Saturday from 8:00am until completion
Salary: £150 for a half day (4 cases or fewer) and £320 for a full day (5 cases or more)

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and skilled Mohs Surgery Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Cheadle clinic. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our dermatology team during Mohs micrographic surgery by preparing, processing, and staining tissue specimens. Your work will directly support the Mohs surgeon in evaluating surgical margins during skin cancer removal procedures.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring specimen traceability, and upholding the highest standards of infection control and clinical governance. You’ll also manage laboratory equipment, particularly the cryostat, and assist with stock control and safe handling of chemicals and biological materials. This role also involves supporting the wider surgical team when needed and participating in audits, training, and quality control processes.
