About the Role
Reporting to the Director of EMEA Programs, the Manager of Field Projects and Operations oversees the installation and maintenance of baggage check systems at Heathrow Airport. The role involves leading a team of technicians to ensure successful project execution and asset integration, fostering a collaborative team environment, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Primary Responsibilities
- Manage a small team (3‑5) of technicians for baggage system installation and maintenance at Heathrow Airport, overseeing on‑site activities and asset integration.
- Lead technical support functions, including installation, commissioning, and upgrades, ensuring effective team management.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, mentoring technicians for professional growth and high performance.
- Oversee service operations to exceed SLAs and enhance customer satisfaction, reporting on spares, response times, and system availability.
- Maintain technical and non‑technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop work plans with scope, schedules, and cost estimates, coordinating for successful project execution.
- Coordinate activities and schedules with stakeholders for seamless project integration.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for safe project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and QA documentation.
- Gather technical information from Analogic US to support the project.
- Deliver reports to Analogic functional units as needed.
- Maintain logs of equipment configurations and software versions.
- Perform special tasks as required.
Skills and Ability
- Strong organizational skills with a track record of team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Effective interaction with diverse customer groups and personnel at various organizational levels.
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining regular communications with customers/end‑user stakeholders, company management, engineering, product support, and field service personnel.
- Must pass a criminal background check, drug test, and credit check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and a passport for international travel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport ID Badge in compliance with the Airport Security Plan and local regulations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain public trust security clearance and be authorized to access and handle Sensitive Security Information (SSI).
- UK citizenship or permanent residency required.
- Must be able to work variable hours as required by business needs.
- Manual handling required.
- Must be within commuting distance to Heathrow Airport.
Education / Experience
- Degree in a relevant technical field or 5+ years in an X‑ray or baggage‑related environment.
- Experience with OEMs in aviation security.
- Experience with X‑ray systems and BHS integration.
- Proven experience in high‑reliability, mission‑critical environments.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity, Linux commands, and PLC coding.
- Foundational IT and networking skills.
