Halfords Group PLC is seeking a Modern Workplace Lead to own and optimise our Microsoft 365 platform, spanning Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Viva and Copilot. You will champion adoption, quantify value, and partner with Security and Identity teams to govern the estate.

The role sits within the Infrastructure leadership team and reports to senior stakeholders across our organisation. The position offers a hybrid working model with a three-day presence at the Redditch

• Use platform data to measure adoption and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage supplier and partner relationships with a focus on service delivery and improvement.
• Establish governance standards across the Microsoft 365 estate in partnership with Security and Identity teams.
• Communicate platform performance and business outcomes to senior stakeholders.

Halfords operates a hybrid working policy – this position will be based 3 days per week at our support centre in Redditch, West Midlands.

About the role

We're investing heavily in modern workplace technology at Halfords, and this is an opportunity to lead a platform that reaches more than 12,500 colleagues across our Support Centre, stores, garages and field-based teams. Having recently deployed Microsoft 365 E5, we're looking for a Modern Workplace Lead to take ownership of the platform, ensuring we're not only running it effectively, but helping colleagues realise its full potential.

You’ll be responsible for the colleague experience that Microsoft 365 enables, using data, insight and engagement to understand how people work, where barriers exist, and how we can improve adoption across tools including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Copilot for Microsoft 365. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to shape the future of workplace technology and ensure colleagues get value from the tools available to them.

Working as part of our Infrastructure leadership team, you’ll collaborate with the wider Tech team and key business stakeholders to drive innovation, improve productivity and help shape how technology supports the future of work at Halfords. Key responsibilities

• Own and develop the Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Viva and Copilot for Microsoft 365
• Drive platform adoption and value realisation, ensuring colleagues are maximising the capabilities available through our M365 investment
• Develop and deliver a roadmap for new Microsoft capabilities, AI-enabled solutions and colleague productivity improvements
• Use platform data and user insights to measure adoption, identify opportunities and improve the overall colleague experience
• Manage strategic supplier and partner relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement
• Establish and maintain governance standards across the Microsoft 365 estate in partnership with Security and Identity teams
• Communicate platform performance, adoption trends and business outcomes to senior stakeholders across the organisation

About you

• Strong hands-on Microsoft 365 expertise across services such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Copilot and Viva
• Experience leading adoption, engagement or digital workplace initiatives that deliver measurable business value
• Able to translate technical capability into meaningful outcomes for users, influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Comfortable working across multiple teams and disciplines, building strong relationships and driving collaboration
• Experience using data, metrics and user insight to identify opportunities and support decision-making
• Strong supplier or service partner management experience, with the ability to hold providers accountable for delivery and performance
• Passionate about emerging technologies, automation, AI and improving how colleagues interact with technology
