About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to join our thriving department, teaching students aged 11-18. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to inspire a love of languages and make a real difference in a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach students according to their educational needs, including setting and marking work to be completed in school and elsewhere.
  • Assess, record, and report on the attendance, progress, development, and attainment of students, maintaining accurate records as required.
  • Provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports, and references for individual students and groups.
  • Ensure that ICT, literacy, numeracy, and subject specialisms are effectively integrated into teaching and learning.
  • Undertake a designated programme of teaching, ensuring a high-quality learning experience that meets internal and external standards.
  • Prepare, plan, and regularly update engaging subject materials.
  • Use a range of delivery methods to stimulate learning and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Maintain discipline in line with school procedures, encouraging high standards of punctuality, behaviour, and work.
  • Undertake assessment of students as required by examination bodies, departmental policies, and school procedures.
The Successful Candidate Will
  • Have proven experience teaching Spanish and French at Key Stages 3 and 4, catering to a range of abilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, incorporating visual and auditory.
  • Develop students' communicative competence through effective classroom routines and target language use.
  • Be reflective and proactive in evaluating and improving their teaching practice.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of curriculum and assessment developments in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Be a motivated team player, able to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Confidently use ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
