Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team is seeking an experienced Model Maker responsible for assembling wind tunnel models, preparing components, and supporting the aerodynamic program. You will liaise with Model Makers, Design teams, Aerodynamicists, and Additive Manufacturing to provide parts for testing.

Key duties include developing wind tunnel models, communicating priorities and issues, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in automotive/high-performance engineering or Formula 1 is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of wind tunnel model work and associated tooling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wind tunnel models and prepare parts for testing.
• Collaborate with Model, Mechanical, and Aerodynamic teams and Additive Manufacturing.
• Maintain delivery momentum; identify risks early and escalate as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to support development.

We are looking for an experienced Model Maker to be responsible for assembly of the models, preparing parts and assemblies in line with our Aerodynamic program, to enhance and make the car faster. They will liaise with other Modelmakers, Model design, Mechanical design, Aerodynamicist plus the Additive Manufacturing team to provide parts for wind tunnel testing.The role will also involve working with the software and technology used to support the preparation, assembly and setup of wind tunnel models.

Model Making

Work with the Team Leaders, Modelmakers and in conjunction with design and Aerodynamicist to develop our wind tunnel models and and testing program.

Take personal ownership of assigned work, anticipating requirements, identifying risks early and acting decisively to maintain delivery momentum.

Communicate clearly and constructively across the Aerodynamics department, ensuring priorities, technical issues and recovery actions are understood and progressed without delay.

Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the Aero department.

Execute the day-to-day tasks, providing support to model shop activities and wind tunnel working.

Manage time effectively in line with departmental requirements.

Identify and implement new methods, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and capability, while actively supporting the development and upskilling of junior team members.

Support the development and upskilling of junior team members through practical guidance, knowledge sharing and consistently high professional standards.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with all existing staff and support colleagues.

Demonstrate professionalism in every task and interaction.

Show flexibility and resilience in meeting operational demands, including shift requirements and changing priorities.

• Extensive experience within the automotive industry or high-performance engineering sector; previous experience in Formula 1 is desirable.
• Strong and broad knowledge of Leica systems, 3D scanning, PI Toolbox, Diablo procedures, and related systems.
• Flexibility to work on shifts.
• Ability to scope all tasks thoroughly, identify issues and discuss concerns and necessary actions.
