Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to service customers on-site and on driveways across Warrington and surrounding areas. You’ll operate with your RAC van, diagnostic tools, and a full uniform, delivering first-class roadside service.

You’ll work a 40-hour week with Saturday shifts, earning a base salary of £40,170 with potential to reach £52,000, plus overtime and bonuses. It’s a dynamic role focused on customer care and practical solutions.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks on customer vehicles on site or roadside.
• Manage stock and parts, perform accurate reporting and maintain records for customers.
• Communicate clearly with customers, provide advice, and ensure high-quality service standards.
• Work on pre-booked appointments across Warrington and surrounding areas, following planned schedules.

• A competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000
• A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
• 40 hours per week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

We’ll equip you for success from day one – with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton‑le‑Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton‑in‑Makerfield. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments – no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.
