RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division to deliver planned, on-site servicing and repairs across the Esher cluster. You’ll work a scheduled timetable with pre-booked appointments, using advanced diagnostics and mobile tools to keep members moving.
The role offers a base salary of £45,370 (London Weighting if applicable) with OTE up to £57,000, 40 hours per week, and 1 in 4 Saturdays, plus overtime and benefits within a supportive national organisation.

You’ll be part of the Esher cluster, covering areas like Esher, Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, Epsom, Ewell, Tolworth, Chessington, Worcester Park, Sutton, Croydon, Mitcham, Wimbledon. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre-booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.
The RAC is known for roadside rescue - but this isn’t that. Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a newer, fast-growing part of the RAC, built to deliver planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members - from their driveway to their workplace car park. There are no emergency callouts, no unpredictable shift patterns and no roadside recoveries. Instead, you’ll work through a scheduled list of jobs, with the time, tools and support you need to do quality work.

From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics. You’ll use your technical skill and problem-solving ability to get people moving again; safely, quickly and confidently.
