Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll work from a fully equipped RAC van on a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs with the necessary tools and support.

You’ll advise members and carry out safety checks in line with RAC standards. Expect a stable full-time role with a competitive base salary (£40,178) and potential earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing performed
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs typically done in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection
