Job summary

RAC Motoring Services in the UK is seeking a Mobile Mechanic for the SMR division to service and diagnose vehicles at members' locations, performing in-depth repairs and offering informed recommendations based on inspections.

You will follow a planned schedule across defined local areas, with fully equipped RAC vans and strong support from a national organisation. Growth and EV/diagnostic skills development are key.

Job description

You'll be part of the Cheltenham cluster, covering areas like Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester (south), Cotswold towns. You'll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

What to expect

Your day starts with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre booked, with the member expecting you. You'll carry out:

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

From day one, you'll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics. You'll use your technical skill and problem solving ability to get people moving again; safely, quickly and confidently.

• A competitive base salary of £40,178, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000
