Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join our SMR Division, covering Bridgwater and nearby areas. You’ll work on a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked appointments, operating with a fully equipped RAC van and supported by a mobile service platform.

Expect a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime. You’ll deliver diagnostics, routine servicing, and in-depth repairs using advanced mobile equipment, ensuring high-quality service for members.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing on pre-booked appointments.
• Diagnose using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Perform vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician inour SMR Division - a new era of mobile repair.

Acompetitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to£52,000

A guaranteed overtime option to increase yourbase salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities

40hours per week, with core hours from8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4Saturdays.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Bridgwater cluster, covering areas like Bridgwater, Burnham‑on‑Sea, Weston‑super‑Mare, Highbridge, Cheddar. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.
