RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. You’ll operate on a schedule of pre‑booked appointments, performing routine servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs on customers’ vehicles with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

You’ll be part of the Bridgwater cluster, covering areas like Bridgwater, Burnham‑on‑Sea, Weston‑super‑Mare, Highbridge, Cheddar. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a newer, fast-growingpart of the RAC, built to deliver planned, structured repair and servicingdirectly to members - from their driveway to their workplace car park.
There are no emergency callouts, no unpredictable shift patterns and noroadside recoveries. Instead, you’ll work through a scheduled listofjobs, with the time, tools and support you need to do quality work.

From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuelcard, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics. You’ll use yourtechnical skill and problem‑solving ability to get people moving again; safely,quickly and confidently.
It’s the ideal role for techs who want variety and independence without thereactive nature of Patrol.
Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
and A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
