Job Type: Full‑time

Salary: £38,711 + Overtime paid at 1.5x + Excellent Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00-14:30 or 08:00-16:30

About the Role

Were looking for a talented Telematics Technician / Auto Electrician to join our engineering team based on‑site at Heathrow Airport.

You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting vehicle telematics and GPS systems across a diverse fleet of airside equipment and vehicles.

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you’ll take ownership of installations, diagnose system issues, and ensure all telematics units operate efficiently across our UK network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain telematics and tracking systems on a wide range of airport and fleet equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and GPS system faults.
  • Monitor system performance via telematics software platforms.
  • Carry out on‑site inspections and maintenance at Heathrow and other UK locations.
  • Maintain accurate service and installation documentation.
  • Work safely in compliance with airport and company safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in electrical, electronic, or telematics installation.
  • Strong understanding of automotive wiring, CAN bus, and GPS technologies.
  • Confident working independently in an airside environment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) or heavy plant is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Level 3 in Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Principles.
  • BTEC HNC or City & Guilds equivalent.
  • Forklift licence (desirable).
