Job summary

Frontier Agriculture is seeking a Mobile Seed Plant Operator based at Lutton, Peterborough, to join a permanent, full-time team. You will drive to farms, process farm-saved seed, sample, check quality and maintain mobile machinery, while supporting the in-house fabrication of seed processors.

Key requirements include a full UK driving licence, PA1/PA11 qualifications and a proactive, team-oriented approach with strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required; HGV Class 2 would be advantageous but full training provided.
• PA1 & PA11 seed treatment handling & application training provided.
• Experience in agriculture, mechanical work or grain handling is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and ability to build effective working relationships.
• Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise.

Responsibilities

• Run the mobile seed plant to clean and treat various products.
• Service the mobile seed plant to required standards.
• Supervise support staff whilst operating on customer premises.
• Assist the Site Manager with regular safety checks and loading of requirements per customer orders.
• Deliver Crop Protection products during peak periods.

Job Description

We are looking for a Mobile Seed Plant Operator to join the Frontier team, based at Lutton, Peterborough, on a permanent, full-time basis.

You will be responsible for driving to farms and processing farm-saved seed, checking quality of the seed, taking samples and maintaining mobile machinery always ensuring the site/machinery is clean and tidy and health and safety processes are always adhered to. Alongside this we are looking for someone to support the workshop fabrication team with the in-house manufacture of our bespoke mobile seed processors.

About You

• Full UK driving licence required (HGV Class 2 would be an advantage but full training will be given to the successful candidate)
• Previous Agricultural, Mechanical or grain handling experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the successful candidate (PA1 & PA11 - Seed Treatment Handling & Application)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
• Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively

Your Role

As a Mobile Seed Plant Operator your role will involve:

• Running the mobile seed plant to clean and treat various products
• Servicing the mobile seed plant to the required standards
• Supervising support staff whilst operating on the customers premises
• Assisting the Site Manager to carry out regular safety checksOrganising the loading of chemical and bag requirements on to vehicles, as per customer orders
• Delivery of Crop Protection products during periods of the year
