Octane Recruitment Limited is hiring a Roadside Technician (Field based) in Warrington to provide roadside assistance for a national breakdown company. The role includes attendances, repairs at the roadside, and using diagnostics to keep members mobile.

You will work 40 hours weekly with 6am-12pm style shifts and earn a base salary of £36,400 with bonus potential and overtime. Benefits include a generous overtime scheme, pension contributions, life insurance, 23–25 days’ holiday, and access to

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair, ideally Level 3 but will consider level 2. (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• A customer-focused approach
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
