Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to service and repair construction and agricultural machinery across Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas. You will diagnose faults, perform breakdown repairs at customer sites, and conduct routine maintenance with workshop work as needed.

The role offers overtime paid at time-and-a-half, a company van and fuel card, plus ongoing training and genuine long-term career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Plant Fitter, Agricultural Engineer or similar.
• Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding experience.
• Experience working on construction or agricultural machinery.
• Good knowledge of hydraulic systems and diagnostics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment faults independently.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Engineering qualification or apprenticeship desirable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing construction and agricultural plant machinery.
• Diagnosing faults across mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Carrying out breakdown repairs at customer sites.
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identifying additional repair requirements and communicating these to customers.
• Completing job sheets and service documentation accurately.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service.
