A leading engineering firm based in the UK is seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to join their team. The role involves reactive and proactive maintenance of heavy plant equipment across multiple production sites. Ideal candidates will have a background in mechanical engineering, experience with heavy machinery, and a full driving license. Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained or qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Experience working with heavy plant equipment.
  • Full driving license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Reactive maintenance of heavy plant equipment across production plants.
  • Implement preventative and proactive maintenance.
  • Conduct repairs and attend breakdowns.
  • Work on motors, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.

Skills

Experience of heavy plant equipment
Welding and fabricating
Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, bearings, air systems
Problem-solving skills

Education

Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar

The role
  • Covering 15 Production Plants across the West Midlands and Staffordshire regions
  • Mainly reactive maintenance, with a view to implementing preventative and proactive maintenance of heavy plant equipment
  • Working on motors, gearboxes, bearings, air systems, rollers, belting and conveyor systems
  • Welding and fabricating
  • Attending breakdowns, repairs, and PPM's
  • Mon-Fri approx 7-4:30
What you need
  • Either apprentice trained or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Experience of heavy plant equipment
  • Experience of motors, gearboxes, bearings, air systems, rollers, belting and conveyor systems
  • Experienced or qualification in welding/fabricating
  • Full driving licence
