A leading recycling company in Glasgow is seeking a Mobile Plant Fitter to maintain and repair heavy plant machinery. You will proactively ensure operational performance and contribute to sustainability goals. Candidates should have a Level 3 apprenticeship in a mechanical or fabrication field and experience in maintenance roles. A full UK driving licence is required. This position offers competitive pay, benefits, and the chance to make a significant impact on sustainability efforts.
We’re proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status for three years running – and to be recognised among the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation. But it’s about so much more than badges to us; it’s about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team. As a core member of the maintenance function, you will carry out reactive, predictive, and planned maintenance across our sites. This is a mobile role covering locations within the Glasgow area only, with a company van and tools provided. Working hours are Monday–Friday, with overtime available.
Are you looking to build a long‑term, sustainable career while genuinely making the world a better, fairer, and greener place for future generations? In this role, you will play a key part in our bold commitment to transform our business into a provider of net‑zero carbon sustainable materials by 2040. Your contribution will help shape a cleaner future and make you a true hero in the eyes of generations to come.
Our purpose is to create a future where the materials we use don’t need to be extracted from the planet.
At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials. Every year, we recycle 10 million tonnes of metals and plastics, saving 19 million tonnes of carbon from entering the Earth’s atmosphere, diverting waste from landfill and protecting resources and habitats. We couldn’t do any of this without our team members. In return for all they do, we do everything we can to create an environment of belonging, value, support and growth. We’re proud to achieve Great Place To Work status, but it’s about so much more than a badge: it’s about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.
Our values are underpinned by We Care and We Do:
