Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is recruiting a Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer with a mechanical bias to join a shift team in London. The role covers planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across broad building services and equipment, ensuring uptime and compliance with safety standards.

You will diagnose faults, track performance, and work within a supportive team to meet client SLAs. A strong mechanical apprenticeship and relevant post‑apprenticeship experience are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance across building services including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps and heating systems.
• Proven ability to carry out planned and reactive maintenance in commercial or critical environments.
• Strong fault diagnosis skills and ability to identify root causes and perform corrective actions.

Role Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across a wide range of building services plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and complete corrective works efficiently and safely.
• Monitor, record, and report plant performance, defects, and maintenance activities using the CAFM system.
• Work collaboratively within a shift team to meet client SLAs and KPIs while maintaining high professional standards.
• Ensure all works are completed in compliance with Mitie Engineering Services policies, health & safety requirements, and safe systems of work.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of three years post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of building services systems including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, and heating systems.
• Proven experience delivering PPM and reactive maintenance within commercial or critical environments.
