Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Mobile Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer to service multiple sites across Reading, Watford, Bristol and surrounding areas. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant and building services, identify risks, update drawings, and support safety initiatives.

The role requires strong fault finding, 3‑phase systems and PLC diagnostics experience, with the ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or time‑served with strong maintenance background.
• Electrical qualifications: City & Guilds 236 Pt 1‑3 and 18th Edition.
• Mechanical qualifications: City & Guilds or equivalent; NVQ Level 2 in Electrical & Mechanical.
• Experience with 3‑phase motors, drives and inverters.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems expertise; PLC diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and building services.
• Identify risks, update drawings, and improve machinery performance.
• Fault finding and preventative maintenance on diverse equipment.
• Provide technical support on heavy industrial machines and cranes.
• Work with 3‑phase systems up to 440V, motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Utilise CAFM systems to manage maintenance tasks and reporting.
• Liaise with site services to resolve building issues and safety matters.
• Deputise for Shift Leader during absences and support safety initiatives.
• Overtime availability, including nights and weekends, as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and building services.
• Identify and manage risks, update technical drawings, and improve machinery performance.
• Conduct fault finding and preventative maintenance on various types of machinery.
• Provide technical support on heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes.
• Work with three‑phase systems (up to 440V), motors, gearboxes, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Use mobile devices and CAFM systems to manage and complete maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with site services to resolve building‑related issues.
• Deputise for the Shift Leader during absences and support departmental health and safety initiatives.
• Be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship
• Strong background in manufacturing maintenance
• Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds 236 Pt 1‑2‑3, 18th Edition or equivalent)
• Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Experience with 3‑phase motors, drives, inverters
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems expertise
• PLC diagnostics and repair skills
• NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines
• Ability to write risk assessments, method statements, and permits
• Contractor supervision experience
