Job summary

A prominent healthcare organization in Wigan is seeking a Medical Engineering Technician to manage the maintenance and repair of medical equipment. The role involves acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of equipment across services. Applicants should have an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering and experience in maintenance, ideally within healthcare. This is a permanent position with a flexible 37.5 hours per week requirement, demanding a proactive approach and effective communication skills.

Qualifications

  • HNC in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Experience in electrical/electronic maintenance, preferably in healthcare.
  • Valid driving licence; reasonable adjustments will be considered for disability holders.

Responsibilities

  • Acceptance testing of new equipment.
  • Minor repairs and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Cleaning/decontamination of equipment.
  • Acceptance testing and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment.
  • Training and progression within the Trust’s engineering services.
  • Planning and executing equipment maintenance across clinical areas.
  • Communicating with equipment users and external suppliers.
  • Ensuring efficient use of financial resources.
